Kriegsloks on old photos

 

Several old photos of Kriegsloks from my collection. Some of them do capture the atmosphere of days long gone by…

Ty2-611 (Schwartzkopff 12307/1943), somewhere in Poland, August 1961. This engine was withdrawn in 1989.

…and Ty2-493 (ex 52 5440, Schichau 3718/1943), photographed at the same location three days later, with a passenger train. Withdrawn in 1989 and 1990, respectively, both were later scrapped.

 

Ty2_81

 

Three 52s pose at the Schichau works, where they were built, in April 1944. 52 7535 later became Ty2-1141 and was one of the last in service (withdrawn in March 1990). 52 685 went to the USSR and was handed over to PKP in 1948, to become Ty2-1178. 52 686, after ten years with MPS, ended up as an industrial locomotive somewhere in the USSR.
